How you will impact Ingevity:
The Production Engineer will provide day-to-day technical and engineering support to the operating areas focusing on continuous improvement; assists in planning, design, and installation of machinery and equipment in the operating areas.
Participate in safety and environmental aspects of the facility ? safety contacts, inspections, safety teams, etc. ? and work to ensure a safe operating facility.
Work within the Quality Management System to ensure the integrity of the product, manufacturing processes, and systems
Drive improvement through the development and design of equipment and processes (including its systems) to support customer needs, safety/environmental compliance, and efficient manufacturing (rates, costs, utilization, etc.)
Research and develop new and improved manufacturing processes and equipment in support of the facilities productivity improvement strategies. Participate in OPEX, Six Sigma, and lean activities to sustain continuous improvement.
Make recommendations for process improvements and capital expenditures in support of the area's productivity, safety, environmental, maintenance, quality, and cost reduction objectives.
Provide technical and engineering support for day-to-day processing and process improvements
Troubleshooting production problems related to equipment, processes, quality, and systems.
Assists with the development of and facilitates training for operations group in implementation of operating procedures, safety/environmental protocol, and new/revised processes and equipment.
Attend plant reviews, sales, and operations meetings as needed and make presentations.
Assist the Engineering Services group with it maintenance systems and reliability initiatives.
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Ceramic Engineering preferred. Related industrial experience will also be considered.
3-5 years of production and/or process/project engineering related experience is preferred.
Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting, RCA, Continuous Improvement, and problem solving.
Good interpersonal relationship skills and written/verbal communication skills.
Excellent technical and engineering skills, communication skills including leading group meetings, multi-tasking, and use of problem solving tools.
Work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and our customers' organizations.
Understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
Understanding of Human Resources goals relating to EEOC, Affirmative Action, and Diversity.
0-10% travel required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
